I didn’t blame him for his decisions I blamed society for making him believe his way was the only way he could live his life. I wanted to give him a hug through the entire story. The desperation, hurt, anger, and finally, his acceptance of the situation was at times really hard to read. Most of the time I felt sad for Mark and Randy, especially Randy. I liked that I got to bring my own emotions into it instead of the author telling me what I should be feeling. What I loved the most about this story was the writing. We take the journey along with Tate, Mark’s son, as he reads the letters his father wrote to his lover-and discovers who his father really was. It’s the tale of two men, Mark and Randy, and we get to know them through letters written to each other over the years. It’s more of a love story that could have been, but never was. Review: Family Obligations is definitely not your typical romance.
